About the 5 ring circus

In 1988, I was a wide-eyed 10 year old experiencing the Winter Olympic Games in Calgary. It was a special time, full of neon ski jackets, shiny trading pins, and feathered hair. Everyone in Calgary caught Olympic fever. Even my teachers told me it was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Well, no teacher of mine is going to tell me how many Olympics my lifetime is allowed to experience. (Cue that “Another Brick in the Wall” song.)

Cut to 2010. I now live in Vancouver, and have a front row seat to the Vancouver Olympics. Now that Canada’s actually good at winter sports, and now that I’m above the drinking age, these Olympics should be a lot more fun. Since I’m a bit of an Olympic nerd and my writing level is slightly higher than it was in sixth grade, it was a natural move to start a blog.

A special thanks to my contributors, who are helping pick up the slack while I’m at the events. Like a short track speed skating relay team, they’re giving me a timely bum push to help me finish this race.
